Most of us who are concerned about living a more natural life are also concerned with the overall environment. (It’s certainly no secret to any California Baby fans, that we’re huge proponents of protecting our Earth!) Topics like pesticides, climate change, and pollution have not only become media buzzwords, they’re also real issues in government and the healthcare world. Now, in a new partnership, HBO and the American Museum of Natural History are presenting a two-part family special called Saving My Tomorrow: Kids Care For The Planet.
The documentary features kids and young environmental activists sharing their thoughts about some of the subjects that are affecting our world. “Earth is our home. We only have one and if we mess this up… where do we go next? We don’t have another earth right next to us, just in case we lose this one,” says Hippocrates Polemis, an 8-year-old featured in the special.
The show is interspersed with songs and performances by kids and artists like Jason Mraz, Ziggy Marley, Willie Nelson, Karen O, and more, plus readings and appearances by celebrities like Tina Fey, Pharrell Williams, Susan Sarandon, Liam Neeson, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Alan Cumming, Jeffrey Wright, and others.
It debuts Monday, December 15 at 7 to 8 pm ET/PT. Then it continues as a four-part series starting on Earth Day, April 22, 2015, on HBO.
